Barcelona Day 1

our very first day in Barcelona and headed straight to a restaurant well known for its Paella and recommended by the hotel staff. turned out to be a restaurant run by indonesians! wtf was my first reaction and should have guessed from its name - Ca la Nuri! then again, it was really good, unlike some tourist's trap for Paella and the mussels were extremely fresh to go with 

a little celebration for the year 2011!

a few of us were invited to a local asian imbiss where we have been rewarding our stomach with much needed asian food since they started running the business late 2011, shortly before I have to leave this place for work in *ahem* another country, but i do travel back to this part of the world pretty often to see my loved ones... anyway, had a great dinner, played my first fireworks in years which turned out to be really funny and exciting, lol and chatted with everyone until the wee hours! Thank You 老板娘 & 老板！ 

My most sincere wishes for the success of your business and great health in 2012 and the years ahead! =) 

Not forgetting bet-bet sean and ngar shien jeh as well... Happy 2012

Last but not least... you know who you are, we must visit each other in our home country this near year, alright?

an evening, a dinner, a moment

a moment which i would like to share with any of you who have been following and reading my blog. The weather in Heidelberg was at its best and we decided to have our dinner on the balcony, overlooking the Neckar as well as the famous Heidelberg castle. The simplicity and the feeling of enjoying life so care-free and relaxed somehow hit me and made me realize how special this was to me.


C'est la vie! :)   

Bonjour & Bombardier

these are two very different words and don't seem to look the same
but she thought the first was the latter
and knowing that she is both confused and sad, she was extremely excited and happy when she read Bombardier instead of Bonjour
thank you, really, for being who you are, for understanding, and for supporting all these while

it has been a pleasure knowing you! the dinners and the bbqs were great! afternoon coffees in Heidelberg could have been better if all cafes were as good as the one you brought us to with the pretty lady behind the counter =P all in all, you will be dearly missed! may we meet again soon... all the best in your future undertakings!

Dresden 德累斯顿

this was an impulse-triggered weekend getaway - resulted in excessive walking which then resulted in muscle pain which lasted for 3 days after. Nevertheless, it's been a while that i've been somewhere with her! I hope you liked it and enjoyed yourself as much as i did! now, get back to your books and work hard before flying back home and paying Malaysia a short visit, orite? =D

Baden-Baden

Was over at Baden-Baden for the weekend visiting my DaiLou! After treating ourselves to the famous thermal bath and spending the night playing Mahjong, we woke up the next day and went for a very relaxing stroll around the town. Thank you DaiLou for taking these photos for us both! (Well, i actually paid on the Mahjong table =P)

初一，a silly photo of us wishing everyone 恭喜发财holding the 福 i got back home in Malaysia, hoping that it will spice up the atmosphere, which, i guess, in the end, actually did! =) so that's good! i am glad.

and that was 2010, in 12 months.

January

played a total of 20hours of Mahjong in 2 days when a friend came to visit and saved me and another poor soul who were left in Mannheim by ourselves doing nothing over the holidays.

as much as i complained about the sumptuous dinners i get every night and the must-have-and-must-eat box of fruits, i will always miss her.

Weihnachtsmarkt vor Weihnachten

it's the time of the year again when christmas markets are sprouting like mushrooms! Münich, Berlin, Mannheim, Baden-Baden or  Bad-xxx or xxx-heim... (Germany comes up with the funniest and weirdest names for towns and cities, you just have no idea sometimes!) that aside, christmas markets are indeed very pretty. Glühwine und Schweinesteak mit Brötchen are the best combination!!! if it's not for the extremely cold weather the past week, i am sure i would have visited a few more by now! hopefully it gets a tad bit warmer this weekend ... until i have more photos taken in christmas markets and before i head back for my one month break! here are a few taken in Heidelberg's! =D

what's more satisfying than spending a schönes Wochenende with a very loving couple, visiting my very 大佬，sipping on hot Glühwein below 0°C at the Weihnachtsmakrt and having a bowl of deliciously homemade hot noodle soup? =D (and getting stuck behind the chair while running back for a group photo)
