Bonjour!!!


I've been suffering from photographer's block of late! mainly due to the fact that I am lazy and it's simply too cold to be holding a piece of metal in the hands without wearing a pair of gloves! 


And as of now, I am camera-less and somehow I am starting to have the motivation to start shooting again! I've seen some award winning shots this morning too and they were really inspiring! Can't wait to meet up with some kakis who share the same passion back home soon and be motivated! =) 


Here's a last shot with 2 of my lovely friends, Eddie and Adele, for the year 2009 and from my lovely canon 50D which has been loyal and good for the past 14 months!

it is the time of the year again when the whole of Germany is decorated by countless illumination around and within every petite as well as busiest towns. Locals and foreigners gather to celebrate this upcoming festival, enjoying the Glühwein together with their favourites - Bratwurst and Winzersteak!!! (mine too!) :)

a good husband?

definition of a good husband...

I was speaking to a friend today and thought this was going to be a light, funny and perhaps an enlightening entry...

not me: good husband = someone who cooks, cleans, washes, etc

me: that is maid

not me: no no..
            when there is maid, then that is maid
            but when there is no maid.
            then it is good husband

so, what are your thoughts? true isn't it?

My dad cooks. used to at least, =P

but he has been helping my mom with the household chores for the past years - mopping the floor which is ONE of the toughest task at home! he sweats so much as if he just ran a marathon!!! having said that, my mom complains that she still mops the floor cleaner than him although not needing to sweat as much.

on top of that, my dad does the dishes after dinner everyday!

well, all in all, i am sure my mom knows that she has the best husband in the world and this is after all, a photo-blog right? :)

a pleasant surprise coming from above

was awarded on a gloomy rainy saturday evening with a late burst of colours from the sky... it started with a soft pink-ish, purple-ish hue, before it got more saturated and striking (somehow) before the sun finally set. made my day!!! =)

the beast that has been crushing the poor old hospital every morning at 7 o'clock sharp!!! I was very glad to have slept until 9 today! without any 'CLAANG, BAAANG, DOONGGG'!

H O M E

It's been a very busy week and weather hasn't been any good either, and I have been lazy once again with taking photos. Have been experimenting some sort of night-blurry-shots from my balcony, but it's not really there yet! Will post them up once I have some more decent and presentable ones.

That aside, I bought my air ticket back H O M E last weekend and have been feeling excited about it! Hence, if you have also realised, I have placed a countdown widget on the page as well! How many more days now? 97days at the time of writing? hehe knowing how time will start flying soon due to christmas market starting 4 weeks before christmas, 2 weeks long of christmas break and another month of preparation before exams, it is really just around the corner!!! SO to all my dearest friends back home, I am coming back!!! and to all the food that is awaiting me, hehehe i shall grow fat!

4 unemployed men spending a chilly afternoon at a dodgy, rundown area getting drunk. They were surprisingly friendly when I requested for permission to take a photo of them, probably due to the fact that they have almost emptied their drinks. We chatted a bit after the shot on where I was from and what I was doing in Germany. I thanked them after.

in case any of you speak Francais (actually even if you don't), I ought to clarify that I am only at level *drum rolls ..............* 1B, a.k.a. pretty lousy! I ordered a veal kidney in Marseille thinking that it was  
s t e a k. So yea, I am that bad, terrible, hopeless. 

Having experienced that, i still love french cuisine and the language a lot (and also to make sure i don't mistake an internal organ for steak ) Anyway, I think the title of this post means 'colourful images' or it might just be 'colour images'. Don't care la, my next french class is tomorrow and it's too long away to wait! I'll change it if it's wrong, for the time being, just take it as colouful images O.K.? =)

a friend once pointed that my photos needed more 'life' in them, that they are lacking people, lacking that extra bit, that x-factor to compliment the setting, which sometimes can be pretty but yet boring. she suggested that the scenes needed human, needed something more than just a pretty surrounding. 

So, i took her advice and worked on that area (when i can, when i remember, =P) hence here's a collaboration of some old shots which i somehow managed to squeeze some sparks into the scene. I hope they work and you will like them!

J'aime Paris, pour de vrai?

I've actually been deleting and rewriting this post. I can't seem to put any thoughts into words at the moment. It's Paris and I've been here 3 times! The first when I was just 13 when '11 (might be more) countries across Europe in 15 days' was a mega-hit! I remember only passing through Germany and just stopping by the blackforest and a cuckoo clock factory, so that was one country already! -__- 

Another 2 times for the past 2 years and to be honest, I am surprised myself that I haven't gotten sick of the city yet and would really like to go back one day and explore it on my own and discover its hidden charm! perhaps, 11 streets in 15days this time? A bientot, Paris! =)

I am still deciding to post more or just these shots. Don't want to have way too many photos from one trip but at the same time, i don't suppose these 3 shots do London justice! I know I know, I am full of contradiction! Sometimes I contemplate so much on simple matters and it's annoying myself! 我举个例子 - I have been thinking back and forth about whether to get an ipod or iphone, or not get one at all, or get one with the same functions from other brands! baaaa... Anyway, let's not get carried away! London...

A photo blog with no pictures?

Alright, it's funny how many blogs which I have came across since the hype started were always full of interesting and juicy entries in the beginning until a certain point when everyone started getting lazy and the post became monotone or the blog was simply abandoned! I wonder if mine has skipped the initial stage and has reached its final days! LOL

Anyway, a good friend is back this weekend, I have got heaps of planning to do for the coming 3 weeks long europe trip with my parents, sister and my aunt!!! I MIGHT just not have much time to shoot! I run out of ideas all the time, I am sick of the city where I am staying in now and have not the motivation or the drive to be honest! and lately it has been über über hot here! I KNOW, all sorts of reaons and excuses for just not getting my butt out shooting right? In fact, I should capture some good moments while my friends are around!!!

Oh well, i guess this will be another entry without photo! BAA!! I'm just terrible!!!

爸爸，生日快乐！！！

Happy Birthday to my BAAAA who turns 55 today!!! Got him a nice and simple classic polo which is bright amber in colour! It's a colour which goes really well with khakis or jeans! Can't wait to show him tonight via the webcam!!! Hopefully he will like it and he will definitely get to wear it during this Europe trip which is only 17 days away! WOOHOOOO! can't wait!!! I'll be posting photos of his new polo in a bit and lastly again, this time in mandarin - 爸爸，生日快乐！！！ =)

Despite having zillions of photo blogs on the web, here I am (perhaps someone else is doing the very very same thing at this moment) starting one for a hobby that I have really come to love and have enjoyed through out the past few years!!! Sooooooo, 25th August 2009 marks the beginning of my very own meus yeux! =)
